Naan bread

as my friend tried: “Who have already tasted Indian kitchen that person know that naan bread is an important and delicious supplementary or their food. It can be a basic, butter or garlic flavored, while warm it is just fantastic. If “Kapitan” or “Karaikudi” restaurants come to my mind where I could taste multiple naan in its original environment, it brings the water to my mouth immediately.”
It is the first time I made this at home, but as the flavor can be variable well, I think this food going to be a recent guest in my kitchen.

Ingredients for 8 pcs:

  • 0,5 kg flour
  • 1 pack of yeast
  • 1/5 tea spoon of baking powder
  • 1 tea spoon salt
  • 4 tbsp yoghurt
  • 110 g melted butter
  • ~150 ml warm water

For the flavoring we can use: fresh coriander, garlic, rosemary, chili, poppy seed, cumin, fennel, cut onion, lemon’s peel.

Screen the flour into a bowl. Mix in the yeast, yoghurt and half of the melted butter. Increasingly add the water until you will get a soft noodle. You are going to feel if you need to use all the water or not. Knead it for about 10 minutes on floury desk. Once it does not stick to the desk and can be formed well that is how we need it. Cover with dish cloth and leaven for 1,5 – 2 hours in a warm place. Form 8pcs balls add the flavor you would like and work it into the noodle then roll out to an oval shape. Heat up a dry pan and fry the oval noodles for 1-2 minutes. After it put under the grill, smear with the rest of the butter, and cautiously bake to golden brown.
